Summer’s Bounty and Anticipating Fall

Tomatoes of every color and stripe, peaches and melons are perfuming my kitchen. The summer’s bounty leads me to play in my kitchen. Every day I find a new way to use tomatoes. This BLT salad is luscious! Quick to assemble and beautiful, it’s an ideal summer recipe.

Cut up ripe tomatoes, lightly salt then let them sit 10 minutes to give up their juices. Arrange soft lettuce on luncheon plates. Heap tomatoes in the center. Flavor some mayonnaise, I use Hellmans Light, with hot sauce or garlic powder, roasted garlic, or curry..Today I used Valentina hot sauce but you can use your imagination for flavoring and go anyway you want. Top tomatoes with crisp bacon. For dieting tell the butcher to slice extra thin and cook very slow. Drip on the dressing and enjoy! Just an FYI..I buy Benton’s Bacon because it’s among the best bacon produced in the USA.

As to  my fall plans I wanted to give you a heads up about what I’m planning for What’s New What’s Next, the building wide event at The New York Design Center on September 22nd. We’ll be introducing the exciting collection of Gio Ponti fabrics never before shown in the United States being produced by Tre80.

We’ve already got a few samples of the fabrics in our showroom should you want to get an early peek.

Enjoy these last days of summer. We look forward to seeing you in September!

Warm regards,

Gail
