Bonacina Dining Chairs

Set of six rattan dining chairs designed by Haruki Miajima for Pierantonio Bonacina 1962. The chairs are fitted with seat pads, covered in China Seas printed cotton as seen in snapshots. The PierAntonio Bonacina company was located in Lurago D’ Erba Italy in the 1960’s. Lurago D’Erba is located in Brianza which has been a major furniture making region in Italy since the end of the 19th Century. There were actually two Bonacina companies operating at that time. Vittorio Bonacina and Pierantonio Bonacino are now merged and continue to produce extraordinary Rattan and Cane today. The company produced hand made furniture in Brianza, made of materials that were imported from the Pacific. Designs have been produced for the company by a panoply of designers which include, Gio Ponti, Franco Albini, Franca Helg, Nanna Ditzel, Tito Agnoli, De Pas D’Urbino E Lomazzi, Renzo Mongiardino, Olaf Von Bohr and many others. We currently have a number of other pieces by Pierantonio Bonacina.
