Centerpiece by Erwin Walter Burger

Carved, engraved, reverse painted and silver gilt glass, with a chip carved edge. Signed on the front, “Erwin Walter Burger”, and with an applied paper tag on the reverse. Published in Il Vetro Italiano A Milano 1906-1968, edited by Rosa Barovier Mentasti. Erwin Burger was the chief engraver and master glass cutter at Fontana Arte through 1945, bringing to life the designs of Gio Ponti and Pietra Chiesa. Very good vintage condition, minor age appropriate wear.
