This cleverly designed table can serve as a simple teak and oak table for four or can extend to an elegant banquet length which seats ten. It’s hinges are reversible allowing you to drop one or both leaves if you prefer. The design of this table is very carefully considered and each aspect has been beautifully resolved. Thirteen years ago I bought and sold the same model. It was then and is now a favorite find. Despite extensive research it’s maker remains a mystery, although it is likely Scandinavian in origin.

This extraordinary pair of footed bowls was produced in 1914 for exhibition at the Important Cologne Exhibition for the Deutscher WerkBund. They were designed by Alfred Walter at the the K. u. K. Fachschule Steinschonau at Kamenicky Senov (Steinschonau) Czech Republic. They are of blown clear glass, frosted, enameled and gilded. They are achieved by means of the broncit technique which was developed in 1910 at Steinschönau, Bohemia. An example of these bowls is held in the permanant collections of the Dallas Art Museum and The Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas Madrid. A pair of very big Carlo Nason for Mazzega Co. hanging pendant lights. The bronzed glass is a bollincine… a bubble filled glass which when lit glitters like champagne. The dark areas of the glass are deepest amethyst. The drop ranges from 43-51.5 as we’ve left excess cord for easily adjusting length of the cord to accommodate a variety of ceiling heights.
