Heavily enameled in a colorful, ebullient pattern of flowers, leaves and scrolling elements all over clear blown glass, this very rare vase was made sometime between1925 and1930, by Oskar Peukert, at Haida, Czechloslovakia. Haida, now known as Novy Bor is one of the most important glass making centers for bohemian glass. The design of this vase is reminiscent of glass from the Weiner Werkstatt. It retains two original stickers.
There are a pair of these vases in the collection of the important private Glass Museum at Passau, Germany, which I photographed in 2001.
